Looks good. It seems that the bag is laying on your chest area better.

I want to know more about the eyebolts in the wall,,,,just into 2x4s ????
The 'pull up bag' idea is a good one. I too used this method years ago with good results but did wear a balaclava...pics taken from Just Jeff's site by the way-hope you don't mind Jeff

yes the eyebolts are in the studs. they have held for a couple years now, so they seem to be working.

This is the setup I've been planning on trying. I have a Kelty Lightyear mummy bag which has comes stock with a zippered footbox. I did a 30 minute test this winter (overnight test yet to come) and found that the air leakage at the foot end needs to be addressed (as suggested previously, spare clothing and cinch strap should do the trick).

For the head end I found that I could adjust the mummy bag's hood cinch cords to adjust the bottom side of the mummy bag to allow some gap for ventilation or cinch it up tight against the bottom side of the hammock to block the cold air.

I didn't want to lose the warmth of the mummy's hood (didn't think to spin the bag like Gargoyle suggests) so for my birthday I got a Montbell inner down parka which has a hood (8oz and DWR treatment). Hoping this will take care of keeping the head and chest warm. The parka will will replace my usual jacket and possibly my raincoat. Time will tell if I can leave the thermarest pad home. Lots to learn for sure.

Gargoyle was nice enough to make Otter and myself into bear burritos for a moment using his modified bag. I've got to say it's a very simple way to cut costs on keeping yourself warm. Now, I'm thinking about how to use what I have to make it all work and still have the room I need with my longer hammock and sleeping style.

NOTE: Gargolye added a loop and attached the bottom of the bag to some line at the foot end of his hammock to avoid the foot ending pooling down towards his butt. Seems like something you might try.
