6'-2" big boy hammock set up

i am 6'2" and 278 lbs (I did weight 323). I plan to be about 250 by the spring- summer time. I am looking to get into hammocks but I am wanting something spacious. I watched a couple of videos that have the bar at both ends I guess to keep hammock from completly cocooning you. I like that ideas. Any suggestions for buget-minded some what set up?

    Brad,

I am 6'4" and 220lbs. I use the ENO DoubleNest and find that I have ample room to move around and get comfortable. I don't use the bars. Just the ENO with whoopie slings.

I too use the ENO doublenest (without bars) and I am 6'8" 260. I have no problem getting comfortable in my doublenest. I have found I just have to lay a tiny bit diagonal in there to feel "just right".

    Big Boy Hammock

I am 6'-2" and 255 lbs. I use a hammock Bliss no se-em mesh. It is rated for 350 lbs and has plenty of room inside.

6'3, 270 here and so far ive found

The WB Traveler 1.7 double, the ENO Doublenest, The Switchback 1.7 double, the BMBH and a Hennessey Backpacker all to be comfortable. The Traveler is almost always my goto... But the BMBH is starting to win out.

I should have a WBBB as soon as Brandon gets more material in stock.

thanks everyone. I found out my local backpacking store carries the ENO. So they said they will get a shipment in later this week. So hopefully I can try one out.

Grand trunk is selling at REI right now for something like $36. If you have the 20% off membership for March coupon or a REI dividend that is an option also.

6'4", 250# and I love my Warbonnet Blackbird 1.7 double. Weight limit 375# so even my wife can climb in with me. My feet just stretch out into that beautiful footbox...soooo comfortable....

"I fish because I love to; because I love the environs where trout are found, which are invariably beautiful... because, in a world where most men seem to spend their lives doing things they hate, my fishing is at once an endless source of delight and an act of small rebellion; because trout do not lie or cheat and cannot be bought or bribed or impressed by power, but respond only to quietude and humility and endless patience...." --Robert Traver

For what it's worth, I've received a lot of rave reviews from our taller customers saying they had tried other hammocks and couldn't get it right until they got in a Trek Light Double. As wou42 said, the spreader bars aren't necessary and they'll only add weight (and usually instability depending on the design). Our Double is 10' long, 6.5' wide and holds 400lbs so you've got plenty of room to stretch out at an angle across the hammock, even for a tall guy/girl. If I can help you out bigbrad73 (or anyone else reading this), just let me know!
