    tarp tensioners

I'm looking for the video/tutorial/explanation I once saw on making tarp tensioners with line inside surgical tubing. I know its here and I've searched high and low but can't find it. Help!

All you really need to do for tarp tensioners is just tie a loop of shock cord directly to your d-rings or grosgrain loops and then tie your line directly to the shockcord loop. Your line is likely to fail before the shock cord loop will anyway. I use 1/8" shock cord from REI. I've used this method for a full season in windy conditions, cold conditions and it works just fine and is about as easy and cheap as it gets. Of course all of the other suggestions work fine too but are a bit more complex then really needed in my opinion.

I agree with this. The sheath on the sc serves as the limiter, and bears the load @ full extension.

The only problem I'm encountering is the knot/bitter ends on the sc loop wants to tangle up my lines.

What I do is wrap my line up and then the last few inches wraps around the whole bundle including the cord loop. Seems to work pretty well.
