I must ask, are you using a phone as a camera? Or are you carrying something heavier?

Man, if I ever do something like this I would absolutely get a winter tarp with side pullouts. That wind was really pushing them in. Nice touch on digging out and using the snow as a windbreak on photos 5 and 6. How long that take?
If you mean how long is it to dig, it depends how frozen the snow is... it was easy this time, about 30min to dig the grave. One gets a lot of warmth doing it And it helps a lot, there was no wind below the tarp, was protected and the tarp didnt touch the hammock even without panel pullouts.

    Sony A7 + Sony 24-70/2,8 + voigtlander 15mm + panoramatic head + tripod, and sometimes I have a minolta 200/2,8 telephoto, which is 5kg together.

There were a lot of healthy treetops fallen on the ground and just broken from the wind storm just several days ago. One could not believe that a nice small healthy tree can be broken in two.

I really like how you have the long axis of the hammocks and tarps aligned for two of the hammocks--I'm guessing that allowed you to move between each other's shelters? Seems like a great idea, especially in that kind of harsh weather!

Thanks for sharing those photos--really beautiful!

Right, we could walk between the two hammocks. And I was the lucky one because my neighbor was the chief who prepared chilli con carne that night

    Awesome--sounds delicious!

I'll have to try setting up that way the next time I go on a trip with some friends.

Very nice pictures. They really capture the difference in weather from the first to second day. Looks like a great trip.
