    Happy Hammock Day!

I just want to be the first here at HF to wish everyone a wonderful, happy Hammock Day. I hope you all enjoy your hanging activities today. Personally, I worked last night, so will be in my old bed, but plan to hang on the back porch come my next nights off on Tuesday and Wednesday. Of course, then again , there's the camping trip with my son to Transylvania Co, NC coming up on the 29th. Anyway, a happy and enjoyable Hammock Day to you all!

i never did think of any thing unique to do today... no rhymes or any thing like that, but now that i'm home from church & had lunch, i'm going to go lay in my hammock, say a prayer of thanks for it, & take a nap
    how's that for a plan?

I think I 'm gonna follow in Slowhike steps and take a nap in the backyard after I get some lawn work done. Also to just hang and try out my ring buckle system which I finally completed today with some quick links I picked up at walmart yesterday for my straps.

man yeah!!! can you imagine going to a "all you can eat" buffet, taking a nap, then going back for dessert
but that's quite an interesting picture turk. i can just soak up all the details that show a different culture from where i live.

In honor of Hammock Day, I did a solo overnight hike in the Sipsey Wilderness. I had a nice leisurely hike in on Saturday, found a good hanging spot alongside Thompson Creek and just enjoyed exploring the area. I slept in late, very comfortably, and had a quiet hike back out. There were some cars parked at the trailhead, but I didn't see anyone else on the trail. I enjoyed myself immensely and I simply can't imagine a better way to celebrate Hammock Day.

That's certainly true. I like hiking with others, and having someone to talk to, but sometimes a good solo hike is just what I need to 'recharge and relax'. Good times.
