    Hammock tarp inner tent

    Hi all, I am thinking of making a mesh tent with a bathtub floor to use under my winter hammock tarp (with doors) for when I go to ground. I'm thinking of a setup similar to this:

    However, the A-frame tent doesn't afford much headroom, and I need to accommodate 2 people inside. What I have in mind is essentially sewing tie-outs on the upper half of the sides of the tent and adding loops to the inside of the tarp (opposite the tarp tie-outs), then attaching them via shock cord to widen the top of the tent. This would be with the outside tarp tie-outs staked out. Would this harm the integrity of the tarp pitch or cause other problems? Has anyone tried something like this before? Thanks.

    Here's a poorly made diagram: tarp tent.jpg

    Winter = no mosquitoes.
    But you can do your tie outs at the ridge line like you asked

    Here’s one possible solution. I made one of these and used it several times until I converted to sleeping in a hammock.

    This is very helpful. Pretty similar to what I’m thinking, and shows that tie-outs can be successfully used on mesh. Thanks!
