    Crater Lake 2011?

Any Interest in a hangout at the deepest lake in north america? it is an absolute paradise up there.. i would suggest spring while it's still cold enough to freeze the tourists. however open to any and all discussion. i'll probably go even if it's a one man show. it's been too long since i've been there

so long as it's no where near july 2nd i'm game (that's my wedding day)

Awesome place! I drove through there last July and it was still pretty chilly, jacket weather. 33 miles of the Pacific Crest Trail run through the park and the trail goes right past the lake. Here's a few teasers:

August might work- is it the warmest time, or has it started to cool down by the end of "summer"?

    Those pictures are beautiful!

Depending on whats going on I would shoot for the Spring and hang out at Crater lake. I have never been to Washington or Oregon which are my dream destinations. I would definitely go as long as nothing crazy is going on at that point.

CL used to be the cleanest water in the whole USA, until I swam in it in 2007..coming back from the top of Wizard Island got bored awaiting on the park service boat so I took a swim
CLNP is truly magnificient...when I got down from the top of Mt.Scott I called my little 78 yo mom and thanked her for the effort so many years ago!

I've found that the best time to hit a national park is the week before school is out for the summer, or shortly after school starts in the fall. Most of the amenities are available, but the crowds are thin.
