DIY Gathered end - Anyone ever experimented with the sewn channel

Anyone ever experimented with the sewn channel of a gathered and hammock? Picture something like a shower curtain suspended from the rod not with rings but from fabric loops, like alternating mini channels.
Anybody ever play around with something like this?

Actually if anybody has any experience in altering the sewn channel I would relish your experience.

Would this be the type of mode you are thinking of?

In a specific sense it's not but I really like what I saw. That's a huge thread so I only had a chance to look at a few of the items but it looks like one of those is a hybrid between a gathered end and a bridge. The sweet concept and one I've actually been thinking about. I've been thinking of doing mine in a reverse setup from the one picture where the bridge part is the foot end and the head end is the gathered.

I'm looking to radically change the sewn channel at the end of the gathered end hammock. I was hoping to learn from some other people's experience, but it's my opinion that a different gathering channel can be constructed to maximize the spread of the hammock and hopefully maximize comfort levels and potentially shorten how long these hammocks have to be.

I have a cheap "Panama" hammock that has a bunch of cord loops through eyelets in the end channels that gather into a knot at each end. I wouldn't say it changes the lay significantly, but I guess it'd allow you to play with end "shapes" without whipping or resewing channels a bunch of times.

Without seeing a picture those are most likely a clew system which I'm very familiar and does dramatically change the lay. Unfortunately the clew system, although very nice, is very finicky and very difficult to maintain as a backpacker.
