Poll: Vote for your favorite tarp attachment point

In another thread, oldgringo questioned the point of D-rings on a tarp as opposed to material loops as an attachment point for guyout lines. I'm interested in this as well. So thought I'd throw out a poll to get a visual of what people like better. I think manufacturers might be interested in the results as well.

I picked 'other' because you can't pick more than one.

I like a d-ring on the ridgeline. I think it keeps the webbing attachment nice and flat - better able to transfer the pulling load evenly.

For the guy-out points I think grosgrain or webbing is plenty. No d-ring needed.

That's how I'm making my new tarp next week.

I made mine using the grosgain from Joann's Fabric using a coupon. They had two brands, I picked the heaviest one - worked great.

"Other" for same reason as Jerry. I find webbing on the ridgeline gets worn a lot but on the other tie-outs seems to do okay.

I voted "material loop" but perhaps "other" is more accurate as I like to use toggles for attachments which are used often (attached/detached).

In any case, the toggles are easily removable. They can live on the tarp or on the line, or they can be transient (made from found materials gathered and discarded as needed).

I use Linelocs on my tarp. Paracord (gonna replace it with 2.2mm Zing-It) on the ridgeline, and unidentified brown 2mm cord on the others. Holds fine and is wonderfully easy to adjust.

I like D-Rings all the way around, but only because I tie the guyline to the pull-outs. With webbing or grosgrain the knot gets buried and is harder to untie.

D-rings for me also. Ease of use, untying knots, etc. Less cursing when I'm in a big hurry. Still don't know why I'm hurrying as this hammocking thing is usually about relaxing. Still maturing... I guess.
