    T-Back,

What exactly did you do to reduce the weight of your fan?

That's relative if you consider what tools you need or what you are comparing it to (in my case just twisting 2 wires together ;-)

I haven't dismissed the idea yet, especially since they're only $7 and change. I'll probably order one to compare with the laptop fan once I get the laptop fan done. It might be nice to have the little built in light; is it a LED?

    Hammock Fan

I finally found some time to post a few pics. They are in the other hammock accessory gallery.

Thanks for the pics! It's amazing when you look at the starting, then the ending weights; nice work.

You could always wire up 4 AA/AAA's in a series for the usb fan. It would slightly increase the output of the fan, and depending on what type of battery you use, would probably increase the fan's run time decently. There would realy be no need for th usb connection, so personally, I would remove it and just put in a lightweight switch.
The foam blades would probably be a little more effecient, since they most likely, have a much smaller rotational inertia.

yep, just like a air little air movement in the cold weather changes things & can cause you to look for a way to stay warmer, that air movement in hot weather can turn misery into pleasure.
I too will something make and joy in it's making
