Returning to the forum after a long absence...

    Hello all my friends!

It's been a while since I've shown myself around here, felt like I learned what I needed and then proceeded to build hammocks, hike and paddle my way around Sweden.

I'm an expat from Connecticut who moved to Sweden about 20 years ago. I learned everything I know about hammocks from you all, and I have developed a line of hammocks and gear over the past several years.

I've used my knowledge here to spread the joy of hammocking to my students, ages 10-13. We built an entire class set of hammocks, quilts and tarps and spent many wonderful days and nights on Sörmlandsleden. I have even tried to make hammocks professionally here in Sweden, but the shipping and taxes make it difficult.

I have now managed a great opportunity for this summer. I will be travelling back to Connecticut and will start a pop-up business making Hamelin Hammocks for all of July. I hope to be able to reach local hikers by section-hiking the AT in CT and VT and showing off my hammocks.

If anyone is interested in following my project, check out my Facebook page @hamelinhammocks

I plan on making a vlog of my hiking and also of my construction on my YouTube page Hamelin Hammocks

I have a whole library of quilt constructions and trip reports on my YouTube page as well.

Again, I owe all my knowledge to the community, this site has literally changed my life.

    See you on the trail!
