    Hammocking across Georgia

I'm currently riding in the "Bike Ride Across Georgia" so I thought I'd bring along my Hammock Bliss netted rig. I've had to get a little creative including setting up on a play ground jungle gym but overall it's been great. I've been able to set up away from all the noise and bustle of an event of this size. I'm not stuck in a hot, stuffy tent or in a gym full of people. Although I brought my HG Incubator, I think I've only used it once, just a lite CDQ on top is all I need. Life is just better in a hammock.

Hot as it's been lately, I really feel for you out there in the sun. I notice there's no bug net in the photos, which surprises me. Is there a route for this ride somewhere or a website? As a Georgia native I'm curious.

    Edited to add:

Ah, I found the website. As of today, you guys are in Milledgeville? If so you're already south and a bit west of my location, so I don't get to go out to the road and wave at you. There's a 30 percent chance you'll need your tarp the next few days. I'm sure you're the envy of your suffering friends when you string up that hammock.

    Cheers.

I just don't have the net set up. I actually slept without it last night due to a nice breeze. The route is on brag.org. we're riding from Ellijay to Darian.

Good luck on the ride and happy hammocking along the way. I keep telling myself that I will participate, but I haven't joined in yet.

Good to see you're taking the hammy with you. Nothing better than a hammy in the breeze while others suffer in a tent.

Don't forget to come out in July for the No UQ Hang. The breeze there also lets me sleep without a bugnet most times there in Summer.
Enjoy and have fun with your family, before they have fun without you

Awesome idea to bring hammock. I did BRAG few years back (about 15) before I started hammock camping. Lot better than crowded gym floor! As a Ga native, I hope the gnats and mosquitos aren't too bad south of the "gnat line".
