    Cold yard hang!

last night started out with a HH Exped, the nest and a modular patrol SB. Clothing was polypro top and bottom and COlumbia merino wool socks.
Had some hot cocoa with my son. ( He slept under a tarp with Military O.D. intermediate bag.) First hour or so was warm. Temp. was 43F woke up at 3 am cold but just on top ,Temp. was 38F. So i put my R.E.I antifreeze jacket on my leggs and i made it to 6 am when the temp was 26F. I was cold enough to go inside. Im a cold sleeper but i am definately thinking that the patrol bag that is rated to 30F is about as accurate as any civilian bag! Overall Hangin out even in the yard cold is better than an ordinary night in the house . Ive really been leaning towards the black black Mamba or the Hudson River for a TQ.

I'm not familiar w/ the bags & jacket you used, but I'm supprized that they didn't take care of you a little better than that.
I'll bet the Black Mamba or Hudson River would keep you warm though.
I too will something make and joy in it's making
