Hello new hanger here. I've been slowing putting together a kit. Heading to GSMNP Smokemont to give things a test drive. Previous attempts were with Cub Scouts and the hammock became a toy. I've been watching lots of the YT videos for tips and tricks. Thank you to all forum members who make videos.

That is the weekend I'll be in the Smokies otherwise I'd be trying to convince the wife to go. Maybe next time. Hoping I can make to the next HangCon at the least.

Welcome neighbor. I'm in the Gainesville area. If you can't get out this summer Hangcon is a great place to meet a ton of people from the area. My wife and daughter are both not campers but love Hangcon so much it had become a yearly family vacation. Hit me up if you are planning a trip in the area.

hello Scott I was in your neck of the woods the end of May feeding the ticks at O'Leno State Park with the Cub Scouts. I had a little time to fiddle with the hammock but spent most of it chasing kids out. IT IS NOT A SWING!
Let me know if you ever need to try anything out as you built up your kit. I have hammocks from Dutch, dream, war bonnet and amok. Yes I know I have a problem.

Howdy from Jacksonville. Haven't done much hammocking lately, but did hang for a relaxing lunch hour on a hike at Standing Indian campground last month.
