    Howdy from Texas

Hi ya'll. I've got a Chameleon Wide on the way! Hoping that I like it. My son's had a ENO hammock for a couple of years and like's hanging. I tried the ENO, but a little small for me, but I see the potential. I have ambitions to hike either the PCT or AT when I retire in a couple of years and hoping the hammock is a good option for me over tenting. The ground keeps getting harder. I kept coming back to this forum when researching what hammock to get. I went back and forth between the Blackbird, Sparrow, and Chameleon and even the Ridge Runner. All seem to be great quality and each has a following. It was really a coin flip for me. Thanks for all the great info! I'll keep coming back. I've got a lot to learn.

Welcome to the addiction from a fellow North TX hanger. Check out the Fall Hang at Fairfield Lake State Park in November. You will not be disappointed in the Chameleon. I have a bit of gear and am nearby if I can ever help with the tarp and insulation question marks.

Howdy and welcome to the trees!

Don't worry too much about finding the perfect solution in the first couple of hammocks you get. Think of them as gateway hangs as you go deeper down the rabbit hole.

The Annual Texas Fall Hang in November that Dunckelman mentioned is a great place to see and try out a wide assortment of gear. Info on that event will be posted in the next few weeks.

Looking back to last year to reminisce and forward to post Covid-19 hangs in 2021

As the ground gets harder, the hammock looks better. Welcome to the forums from a Georgia guy whose ground sleeping days are in the past.
    "...the height of hammock snobbery!"
