    Hoss, welcome to the forum.
Are you asking if anyone suspended a sleeping bag from the underside of their hammock? My understanding of the MSS is that it is a three layered sleeping bag. If that is your question, then the answer is yes.

    Something like this??

This style of bag is reputted to be excessively heavy, at 10 pounds+, it not practical for most to backpack or hike with this bag.
Some do use it inside their hammock and they love it. I don't recall anyone suspending this style bag from the underside of the hammock, but lots of folks do it with a sleeping bag, so it can be done.

I turned the green patrol bag into a top quilt. I done this by taking the elastic out of the head area, cutting out the zipper, and and leaving the foot box.

You could try something along this line. http://www.overstock.com/Sports-Toys...1/product.html The Panda bag has been reviewed here before and was not well thought of. In fact someone was trying to sell one and I don't think they were successful even at a very low asking price.

    Hoss,

If you want to suspend your MMSS, put it in a hammock. Done. If you are using this system, you are not too concerned about weight. Sewing anything to the goretex bivy so that you could suspend it would seriously compromise the structural integrity of the bivy. Throw it in a hammock and be done with it.

    Thanks to all that replied

    First Gargoyle,
yes it is a heavy system but, most of the time I only have one or two commponents with. And I am by nature and practice a tarper. Hammocks
are a new intrest for me. Maybe I will change gear. I do have to say I love my old bivy though.
    Next Ramblinrev,
That is what I had in mind , Thank you
    And Pedro,
    Point Well taken.

I would like to thank all of you good Gents for your time and feedback.
I have some thinking to do.

    Cheers
    Hoss
