Thanks a lot for the post, I have been thinking about buying one for some time. I think that they are pretty neat, and especially with the coffee press

I was really surprised myself. MSRP is close to $80. But when you see what hardware is there, you realize there's quite a significant markup, and room (at least for the manufacturer) for a significantly reduced price. Maybe the 4 wheel drive place got a bunch for some promotional.

An adult advisor in my crew at Philmont last year carried one for his early a.m. shot 'o java before the scouts dragged themselves out of the sack. Looked like a handy cooking system for 1 or 2 people, if you stay simple. So with this tip I bought one.

    thanks 4D's !

Agreed. I've got one and it works great for hot liquids and simple FBC, which is about as fancy as I cook on the trail. At that price, I'd buy if I didn't already have one.

Good deal of the Jetboil. If I weren't a dedicated MSR Pocket Rocket user, I'd try to snatch that up. I've only seen a couple of them, they seem to work well. I think I remember NCPatrick having one at the April SEHHA Hangout, if I'm not mistaken. It's all good though, what works for one isn't the best for the next person.
