Firewood ordered.

For a fire, it is recommended that you go to the main fire pit in front of the lodge. This is the Main Common Area and meeting place for HangCon. There will also be a fire in the fireplace inside the lodge.

If you plan on having your own fire.....
- Please bring a portable fire pit. We practice LNT (Leave No Trace) camping so we don't like to scar the ground with hundreds of small individual fires.
- Please bring your own firewood- Per Florida Code- no out of state firewood permitted. You will need to source your firewood locally thru vendors.
- HangCon will provide firewood for the main fire pit and lodge fireplace. Please don't get firewood for personal firepits from here.
- For the love of all that's Holy, DONT LEAVE YOUR FIRE UNATTENDED. Yes, this has happened before. YIKES!
- Have a source of water to put your fire out each night. (see previous line)

We love the community of Hangers that have decided to come out to HangCon every year. Please be considerate of others after hours if you have your own firepit going. We would rather you come to the Main Common Area and join the camaraderie built around the firepit. Maybe sing a song or two, play a guitar, tell some jokes or stories. Have a wonderful time and meet other hangers from around the Country or maybe even another Country.

Just over 2 weeks for HangCon 2020... WooooHoooo!

Please remember to bring a canned or prepackaged good for our Food Drive. Thanks in advance.

We are going back to Sertoma!

HangCon will NOT be at Doe Lake this year.

Every year, so we can be as prepared as we can for HangCon, Gumbo and I do a scouting trip to Doe Lake. Yesterday, for reasons that nobody seems to know, the Doe Lake Campground hosts (who are super nice folks) tell us that Doe Lake is booked for weddings through all of January and we are not even in their system. The bottom line: Doe Lake is not available after all.

Therefore...

HangCon 2020 will be at Sertoma Youth Ranch in Brooksville, Florida. This is the same spot we had last year.

Please reach out to everyone you know who's coming to HangCon, and confirm that they know to go to Sertoma and NOT DOE LAKE!!!

Well just ordered my Florida Trail map set for Ocala yesterday. Maybe I will still do that during my down time between Hangcon and the 24 Hours of Daytona.
