I honestly couldn't even tell you. Whichever end it "ends" up at, I guess. I'd have to go look at pictures to figure it out.

Neither...I'm in a Clark which has the stuff sack built in. When I used my Claytor I usually hung it from the head end which was lower. (now there's some logic for ya)
Head ALWAYS!
OCD kicking in strong!
Actually made this decision before putting the rig together .
I really do have OCD don't I? Yeah, thanks buddy for letting me find that out, about myself at this stage of the game.
But hey, it's all about options right? Just make sure that the people with OCD make a definete decision before they set up the hammock, or they will go nuts and not be able to get to sleep.
And I really do want to thank you for letting us pick "Who cares" if we wanted to. Not that I could have chosen that option (remember...OCD sufferer), that was really cool of you to do dude. This old hippie says...groovy man.
The thing is....now I will never be able to attend a hang event without making note who is foot and who is head.....and then I'll have to count them, and then figure the percentage, and then note what direction they are pointing to, and then whether they are opened or closed, and then if they are subdued or brightly colored, and then what size are they, and then what is the closure method, and then.............................................. .......................................
HOT OFF AP News................Barefoot Child was observed today stumbling through the shire, and mumbling something about having to make sure that all the stuff sacks were correct, before his meeting with "His Royal Majesty...King Cannibal".

Since the only commercial hammock I have is that "Parrot bay" one. Er... the stuff-sack is in the middle. :P (HAAB)
Assuming that by "stuff sack" you mean a Black Bishop Bag, ie pre attached to the hammock & etc: mine goes at the head always, where it does double duty as a easily accessible storage area. In warm weather my water bottle goes there, in cold weather I'll often stick my fleece vest there for easy access when getting up in the AM. I think this only really works (the storage area thing) for hammocks with out a bug net (Mine), or with one that goes over everything as an add on, like the ENO one.
To help stuff stay put, I cinch the draw cord closed just a little.

PAIN is INEVITABLE. MISERY is OPTIONAL.
My sack in the pictures is a bishop bag. The seller on HF sent it with the BB when I bought it. I just found in the bottom of the shipping container, 2 DUTCH clips! you guys should have seen me running around the forrest with the clips in my hands, screaming it is CHRISTMAS! I was so STOKED!
Rook (HUBBY) thought I was nuts until he realized what I had in my hand. Then he was JEALOUS
So the Bishop bag on my BB is at the head. I never really paid attention. But looking at it all closed up and it seems that the same end of the bag is always opened. The head end it tightly cinched down whereas the foot end is harder to tighten up. So that to me is the obvious end to open, pulling the foot out first.
Thanks for re-posting my pic. That is one sexy setup. hee hee hee
It's not the pace....it's the experience.

It is so weird that this topic came up because it was just last night that I was thinking about it. I rehung the hammock switching ends so I could watch the sun come up. Somehow the stuff sack ended up at my head. It almost kept me awake with OCD to fix it. My final thought on this is that consistency is a good way to avoid loosing things.
