I have watched and enjoyed all of them too. It is almost like I know McEntyre, although we have never met. Sorry I had to bail on the trip. As it turned out, it would have been the worst possible week for me to have been away from work. I now also have a new interest in getting another dirt bike.

I have always been mesmorized by the Santa Elena Canyon. One of my uncles floated through it when he was young (probably in the 50's) and told me he would take me through it. Being a multiple day trip, the logistics were different from our normal river trips, and we weren't really set up for that kind of trip. There were no commercial trips or outfitters available for me to go with back then. My grandparents and uncles who I made these trips with, all got old and have passed now. You just can't keep saying "one of these days" or it will pass you by.

It's not easy to visit Big Bend. I drove 30 hours to get there, half of which was in the State of Texas. It took longer to get back. I spent eight days in Big Bend, and five days traveling. There were at least 11 people who were going to go with us, but did not.

We need to schedule another visit, with more advance notice, so we can float down the river, hike to Mariscal Canyon, and eat more brisket at La Kiva! Also, I want to ride the roads in Big Bend Ranch State Park!

If we can get a group to return, I would reserve a group site at Cottonwood for a base camp.
