Nervous night in Edneyville, NC

I've heard that exact sound several times in my Northern Virginia neighborhood. In my case, it was a local red fox.

I'm hanging up in my woods tonight and hoping not to have a confirmed sighting of a mountain lion to report in the morning.

Well, I thank you all for the different inputs & advice.

I'm gonna see if "It" returns tonight. I guess in a perverted kinda way, I'm hopeing to get a sighting. I'll have my super 14.4 volt Makita flashlight and camera ready just in case.
