Sounds like all your research paid off.

And Wowzers! Be careful taking that rig into the woods... you're going to want a GPS to get back if you walk 10' into the brush to collect firewood. (I hear an "aww crap, where'd my shelter go...")

Looks great Skookum. Thanks for posting.

I like that your tarp closes off completely. Very well done. I especially like the design. You should be proud!

How's the hammock feel? It looks good.

Awesome work. Too bad the neighbors won't be able to appreciate it. The camo is so stealth they probably didn't even notice you put it up.

    Thanks!!!

Yeah I love camo!! Stealth baby! Finding camp in the dark might be a challenge. Maybe I will get me one of these:
    Remote Controled LED Locator. $6.99

As for the tarp, I went with the rectangular cut (still followed your dimensions) because I like the tarp tight to the ground when closed up. As for the big size, I like the versatility and the ability to open it up for a large working area or buttoning it up for cold weather, storms or privacy.

Mega Hammock feels good. I kept the full width (68" before hem). I can lay side-ways in the fetal position or all stretched out at an angle. It's roomy to say the least.

I am going to try a new twist on the top cover. Almost done with that. Bug netting next. I will post final results.

    Thanks again Scott!

Oh, they saw me alright. The neighbors thought I was nuts. That's nothing new.

I also design fishing lures and use my pool to test them. They think I have lost it ...I can hear it now.....

Liking my style? Brother you invented style. I do have a certain flare though. Mostly around the midriff.

Backpacker? I dabble but not a purist. I plan on doing more of it though. I would say that I am more of an all around outdoorsman. I like to hike to remote sites, staying off the beaten path as possible. Hiking, kayaking, Mushroom Hunting, caving, wildlife photograhy, camping, primitive survival camping, in field survival techniques, etc. I like to explore & be "one with nature". I also like to hike to remote fishing locations. Big-time catch and release fisherman.

I just wanna be outside brother. That's where the real skookum hangs out.

Those doors close quite nicely, haha. Looks great.

Reminds me of the tarp i'm making that has been stashed in a pile in the corner for a few days.... maybe i'll finish it tomorrow. Or the next day.
