trip report of a different kind

Here is a trip report of the 12 hour Natchez Trace Adventure race in Tennessee. It consisted of riding bikes, canoeing, orientering, running, and just a very long day
I know it is not hiking but I had a pack on my back for 12 hours

hey BEAS, thanks for posting that. Two things struck me in particular.
1. at the beginning when you were doing a run-down on your gear, you did
that for several minutes without a transition, without an "umm", or "duh", or sticking your finger in your nose, or anyone of the other things that plague me when I shoot. For me to get out 90 consecutive seconds....takes 5 or 6 shots. You're good.

2. Really appreciate you taking the effort to shoot footage in the midst of this race, complete with missed checkpoints, made it interesting to watch.


When you showed you taking a canoe loaded with a bicycle on some point in the trek, I couldn't help but think of those puzzles where you have to get chicken and a fox and a bag of chicken feed across a river without the fox eating the chicken or the chicken eating the seed. Give us some time, we'll work up a puzzle you all have to solve to ferry you and the bikes, and get that to the organizer for next year.

Good stuff BEAS. I never got into adventure racing, but mountain bike racing and trials riding were my thing.
