    MacCat Ultra for two?

Thru hiking the co trail this summer and wanted lightest possible tarp. It does seem like a stretch, but would an ultra from oes be able to cover 2 hammocks (Hennessey ultra light and scout)

As long as the hammocks are hung side by side, it should work fine.

The Ultra is the same width as the Deluxe, BTW. Only the ridgeline is longer.

probably, but .... are you going to hang both hammocks from the same trees? If not you're going to have to find the perfect 3 or 4 tree configuration to make it work.

Several folks have ordered custom 10x12 tarps from OES specifically for covering 2 hammocks, but even then, you are kinda at the mercy of the trees.

I think having two tarps will make things easier on you, but I have no knowledge of how you plan on hanging the hammocks or of what the trees are like out there. It can certainly be done, but you may have to take more time for site selection.

Some more information might help get better responses.

Worst case, bring along one of the stock flys in the event you have to hang from separate trees. You could set the OES as the "basecamp" tarp over one hammock for congregating and the other hammock would use the stock fly.

I've hung two hammocks under the MacCat Standard during several rainstorms...my 10 y/o and me. With good site selection, an Ultra should work fine. But I'd definitely take along the stock fly just in case you have to hang from different trees.

You might also be able to have Brian (OES) build a custom Ultra - have it made wider than normal. That would give you better side coverage.

Yep, I'm open to really whatever option you're looking for, either a wider/longer Ultra or a larger custom rectangular tarp.

My current set up when hanging with my wife is what I call "the honeymoon suite". It's usually a three tree configuration with our heads to the one tree and feet to the two opposite. I cover it with a 12 x 12 Kelty Noah's tarp and for the most part it works okay.

My wife would now like something for a similar set-up but with doors that would close and I am not sure what direction to turn.

I was thinking about a Backwoods Winter Dream or OES Custom on steroids.

    What size would folks suggest?

Again, we want doors as well as a two hammock cover.
