So, now that I have pondered, wondered, worried, fretted, kicked the dirt around, planned, replanned, backed away, came back, retooled, bought stuff to hike and tent camp, then to hang, sold stuff to hike and tent camp, that I though I might use, dipped my toe in the water, jumped in the water, tore my acl, tore my mcl, got black and blue toe nails hiking, bad feet, bad back tenting, great meals on a campfire, heard sniffing noses of who knows what under my hammock, a racoon trying to steal/destroy my boot, frozen water bottles, wet everything, seen beautiful sunsets, caught in some awesome (did I say awesome?) thunderstorms, spent some wonderful times alone in the piney woods, lost myself for mile after mile of God's creation in pure wonder and peace as well as what ever else might come my way, the thought of picking up my walking sticks and a loaded pack has taken my heart. How was that for a way too long sentence?
It seems I have been searching for the last few years since I lost my soul mate and husband to cancer. I have found hiking and hanging in a hammock is the place where I can come to terms with all of it and find real peace. I am selling my business of 26 years and goin' hiking and hanging! Yikes! Here I go!
Thank you, hammock forums, for all of the information you pass along to get us up and off our real butts or spiritual butts and get out there. Some of us find our lost souls or way back because of you. I am not sure you realize some of your impact. Keep up the wonderful and supportive work.
