    Mamba is on the way!

The wife is going to kill me. Again. Tonight I was told that I have become obsessed with my hammocks and needed help because I've become anti-social and spend way too much time on this site! My witty retort was that I don't like to watch TLC and "Say Yes to the Dress" every night.

Even so, at least the TQ will be here in time for my mid-April walkabout on the AT in N GA.

I bet everyone has a story to tell similar to that.

My wife is starting a "Hammock Widows" support group. Your wife is welcome to join.

In a fit of distress, she grumbled this to me, I replied, " Good, met on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday."

The hammock is way more comfy than the couch.

I'll keep you updated how this master plan works for me...

PS, mamba envy just struck me. congrats on your new fluffy friend.

My wife says we need to get one of those new iPads so I can spend time with her in the family room instead of being holed up in the office computer on HF... or so she can get a chance to check her email! However, I had her try out my mamba last weekend in the hammock... now she wants one!

my wife also believes i am obsessed with this site, between the gear this sight and dehydrating hiking food she thinks i am nuts, but loves the fact that i am home and not wasting money at the pub every night, and she gets a break when i take the kiddies out with me on a day hike, (cover for testing gear) i'll let here know about this support group i think it may help!!! hangers unite!!!
KEEP ON HANGING IN THE FREE WORLD !!!!!!

    All women hang?

I'm a wife....I hang....I am addicted to all the sites, HF, backpacking light, white blaze... (HF is the best though).

Where are all the women? Hanging is smart, comfy, and AMAZING!

I would love an all women hang.

Don't get me wrong, boys. I love my hubby's company, and he's so supportive. But I wouldn't mind encouraging all the other wife-e's to get out and enjoy LIFE! Play with all these cool TOYS!

Rook still gets to go to his "boys" trips, stretch his legs. But I know he loves the trips with me too. Bonds us. It's what we do. He walks with pride when he passes the pack of men miles in, as they watch with envy that his woman is there WITH him, sweating it out, conquering those inclines.

Shout out to the women feeling neglected "GET YOU BUTT OUT THERE WITH YOUR MAN! YOUR MISSING OUT!"

There is no excuses to not get out. short trips, long trips, bring your meds or supplements, whatever you need. NO EXCUSES. LEAVE the makeup and hairdryer. Your man loves you NAKED. Who care what you look like. The best part is the HAMMOCK in the end.

I've seen people hiking with an artificial leg. Come on... Even your weight or strength is not enough of an excuse. You CAN do it.

    Ok...done ranting. Thanks!

I can't figure it out, either.

It's also not clear to me why single guys join my hiking group, say they are there to meet single chicks of like mind - and then never date one of us hiking single gals! Seriously, if you really really want a barbie girl sort of lookin' chick, actually ASK ONE OF US OUT - do you think we wear the Rough Riders and midweight base layer to restaurants that are NOT on the way back from the trailhead? Dude! Not putting on the mascara to hike for a week! CLUE there, honey!

PM me for Genuine Draft's phone number. You two will get along wonderfully!

My biggest problem with getting gear is finding a place to hide it! I don't get in trouble for buying it, even if I do have 3 other things just like it. I get in trouble for not buying one for her too! I suppose there are worse problems a couple could have, but I get this sneaky suspicion that if her and I ever come to a 'fork' in our paths, the biggest fight (by far) is going to be over gear.

Wouldn't have it any other way.
    Trust nobody!

I think Rook and I would have the same problem. Good thing it is nothing to worry about. It's puppy love with us. Thank GOD, because he'd be screwed!

We really need to get a hang together for just women....or couples even. No offense to the men with stubborn women. But I think that would be such a great experience. Might influence those stubborn women to try it out and not feel so alone.
