I use 1.9 mm Tech line for hammock ridgeline and sometimes the lighter kind (can't remember the diameter of the smaller line). Have not had it break yet (knock on wood). So, the lighter line for your ridgeline should be fine. I do use the 1.75 mm Zing it on my BB double, 'cause that is what I had at the time.

I use dynaglide whoopies and 1.75mm Zing-it for the ridgeline on all my hammocks. Been working for about 3 years now.

    Abrasion on various suspension

Thanks for feedback. Theoretically 80 lb test braided fishing line would work just fine for tarp suspension and guy lines but in practice it would become a tangled mess and when rubbed against the loops of tarp's Ridgeline end points and possibly tree webbing straps etc over time. Also the abrasion would cause the line to fray badly. This is why we re-tie frequently, especially in deep sea fishing where fish have sharp everything. D.G. often used for spear fishing holds up well for this but I have never compared Samson product to DG side by side. How does general wear and rubbing i.e. abrasion & UV cause the various coatings to fray over time?
