    Jay Cook S.P. 3/26 - 3/27

Well, back from an overnighter at Jay Cook S.P. with No p55. We bailed a day early. Weather was nice yesterday but it rained overnight into this morning. Little chillier today and very cloudy so we packed up in the morning and then did a nice hike out to the Lost Lake campsite which is the furthest one out. Also stopped in the High Landing campsite and poked around there for a bit before heading back on the River Trail to the cars. All in all a decent couple days though the trails and the campsite we were at were pretty muddy. I uploaded a few photos to my gallery.

Too bad about the crummy weather. Nice pics, though. I like that one of the river.

Sorry you didn't get to stay the full weekend. If you didn't get your fill I'm heading out Monday and Tuesday. If for some reason you can't make it to work let me know.

I would but this week is month end at work and it's going to be real busy. I have Monday next week off. I'm going up to Split Rock this coming weekend and staying Saturday and Sunday 4/3 - 4/4 heading back on Monday. I'd like to hike the Split Rock River section of the SHT. Haven't tried that stretch of trail yet. Looking forward to it. Just got some new hiking boots today. Hope they work out. I spent a lot of time trying boots on at REI. Pretty frustrating trying to find a pair of boots that fit my wide feet.

Sorry about the soupy mud but it looks like you had a fun trip. I'm gonna have to join you one of these times.

I think I'm going to hit the SHT and the NCT a few times starting in late April and throughout the month of May. Let me know if you want to go sometime.

My youngest son and I got up to Yellow River last night. It wasn't muddy.

Hey Randy, I'd like to get back down to Yellow River again and see what it's like there without the snow. I'm guessing you had some nicer weather down there. We'll have to set up a Yellow River Hang 2 sometime.

Yeah, the weather was pretty nice. It hasn't rained here in a while so the trails were nice and dry.

I got to try out a climashield TQ that I just made and found out that it's good into the 30's.

Just give me a shout when you want to head down here.

Please give a public shout on HF. I'd like to see it without the snow too.
