It would be nice not to have this hang on the same weekend as the Northern Hang, so people can attend both, if able.

Here's my last trip to the MRT ... short video, it was a couple of years ago! ...
Seaton Creek was a great parking area for about 10 cars, but I am sure the **** could handle more. MRT. That's of course when I was a ground dweller.

Hikin' paddlin' hangin party? Get some canoe guy to carry all our stuff?? Slackpack into the woods hang for the night and float out in the a.m.?
anybody know anyone with a canoe?? (inside joke)
Ambulo tua ambulo.
I'll come up for it. Can we try to have it at least 2 weeks off of the Northern Hang? I want to be able to attend all the regional hangs and not have to choose between them.
I have started out from the Seaton Creek Campground which is the most rural. Near there the is the Hodenpyl Dam which has boat launches and etc. but walking the 2 + miles in from Seaton Creek Campground adds nostalgia. It's on the Northern side of the trail vs. Red bridge which is in the southern. Yet, I am open to anything! ... that could be a good starting spot! ... Down near the bridge! ...

For those of you with conflicts on the date, propose better ones for consideration. If one doesn't work, find one that does and throw it out for consideration. Ultimately we want to find one that works for everyone.
Do we want to consider a maximum number, or are we willing to get to 50-60 strong with all the logistics that brings? The Hoosier Hang seems to have done that. Not sure folks will brave the whole peninsula effect of Michigan and drive the miles necessary, especially for the Manistee. Just some random thoughts.

ONE. We can't make everyone happy, someone will have a conflict with dates, locations etc. I've tried to make everyone happy before..no fun, at least not for me.
TWO. I agree with keeping in the southern half of the mitten, close enough for Wisconsin, Indiana, Ohio, Illinois, well you get the idear!? Oh, yeah and Canada.
THREE. I picked a spot I know has
A. parking
B. water
C. facilities to handle large groups
D. Lots of trails
E. a varied selection of outdoor things, fishing, hiking, mountain biking, (shoot, folks can bring their horses?) kayaking, canoeing. in the lake or nearby lakes and rivers for side trips?
F. Its a "clothing free" zone.
