Thanks Quoddy. Might take you up on that!

Shall we get a show of hands for what people prefer regarding hike length? Grout Pond is a very short hike to Campsite #1 which was the best one we saw. #10 is a bit further but no more than a half a mile I think.

Merck Forest, where we can reserve a site, would be more along the lines of 1-2 miles depending on the site.

If everyone agrees I can try to find something much longer in the 8 mile or longer range depending on what people want. I like to walk and am willing to do just about any distance. For a Hang I have a feeling it is more about hanging out and chatting so fully understand if most choose to have the short hike.

    Let me know!

Hike length doesn't matter to me. I'll try to be there, where ever it is.
Since I retired, some times I stay awake all day, some times all night.

I don't mind a good hike. Eight miles is fine.

i hike quite slowly... so while 8 miles is fine, i'd just liek to know in advance where it is and i'll just get a jump so i dont slow people down

You like to hike in the dark, too, as I recall ;-)

I'd like to attend this hang. Any chance there will be 2 or 3 weeks notice when a date is decided? Just makes it easier if I need to get time off...Is this looking like 2 or 3 days? Apologies if this has been decided, I read through the whole thread a few days ago and don't remember seeing anything definitive.

I'll be right behind you srestrepo, I've got a bad knee so even though I don't mind the longer hikes I tend to get poky after the first three miles or so

I'll add my voice to the chorus, time to set a date! No sense folks clogging up the thread if they're not even going to be able to participate.

How about June 18th-20th? So far Grout Pond but will scout other locations for a bit more of a hike.

July works better for me. June's looking crazy, from a chocolate perspective.
