Depending on where you're shopping, shipping could be a big factor in "cheap".Have you looked into something like the ENO Single Nest or similar?
Otherwise, you can quickly and easily make a serviceable hammock yourself with a big piece of ripstop nylon material and some strong cord!

That and the shipping to New Zealand or from New Zealand will be very high to the states....might want to see what you can find over there befor you try to trade with someone...would probly be cheaper....

thanks guys. i send stuff to the us all the time as i trade alot with guys on another site and its not a problem. no i have not looked into the eno. as for making one mmmmmmmmmmm the ripstop here is out of this world in price.LOL!!!!

i know if you look around online you can find ripstop cheap..i just got 10 yards of the blue that i'm making my quits out of for 2.76 a yard
i would do a search and see what you can find
also campmor has a hammock for $20
