I have a week long trip planned in a week and a half. I will be going with a bunch of "tenters", so it will be fun to get the chance to do a little educatin'.
63, and doing the canvas tent gig, as well.

Waddy, check out the Idaho hang in September...should be a chip shot for you.

I am 55. Some years ago I had to stop sailing and kayaking because of some minor health problems. Thus the outdoor life had ended for me. That was until Shug hooked me with the bait from Hammock Forums. Big, big thanks.

Adding the digits in my year age = 10

The number of miles I routinely BP/day over hills etc = 18

18 is the more meaningful number.

Pushing 64 really hard, but I'm only halfway to where I'm going. I get more time every year!! Hanging should get me to about 150

For me, hanging has afforded me more consectutive camping days and less time recovering from sore joints from sleeping on the ground. I can do longer sections now and I dont have to eat nearly the amount of Advil I used to. Oh.. I can carry more stuff in my pack than I used to also. Kinda makes me feel my youth came back in a way
Been a bad year for me in terms of being able to get away for hanging, but so far have managed 6 nights in my HH. Three of them were in stinkin' hot & humid conditions, and I was very comfy.

Had I been in a tent (even my well-ventilated MSR Hubba Hubba) I am sure that I would have slept poorly due to the warmth of a pad. But the thing I like best about a hammock is waking up, pouring myself out of the hammock, and SHAZAM! I am standing up with no soreness. Exiting a tent is a slow and painful activity due to bad back and knees.

Well I might as well Pipe Up

    Sure a lotta BOOMERS here.

Funny though how the boomer cut-off over the years has streached to include 45'ers

Back in the 60-70's the boomer cut off was 1955; which I made by 2 days.

Been away for 20 years; plan to make up for it.

Although I have always heard "You can't save it up and you can't make it up."

So what; when my Clark arrives, I will be out there, working on making up for lost time . . .
