The Guidelines in the Group Buy section have been recently updated to clarify that a bit. That, coupled with the updated rules in the "For Sale" section.

The short of it is this - folks like Mac or myself who could qualify as vendors that offer quantities of something for sale with a greater than $0.50 profit per sale need to post in the "Other Vendors and Services" subforum (with moderators permission).

I appreciate the clarification and think it was the right move and a very good idea. And, I really appreciate the leadership here offering an outlet for those of us who are vendors to be able to offer materials to the DIY crowd at extremely high discounts compared to retail offerings. HF is the best of all worlds.

Thanks and thanks for the feeding my DIY addiction. That is one of my favorite parts of HF along side the hangouts. I'm going to marry your 1.1 camo with some insultex and see what kind of children they make. With Mac involved you know it will be pretty children.

HF welcomes group buys, discounts, sales, etc. Each one provides fantastic opportunity for the members and we appreciate those that make such things available to us. We just need to keep clear the difference between member sales and vendor sales so that HF remains an impartial place to discuss hammock gear of all makes and models.

Now that I know THAT, I'll have to keep an eye on the "Other vendors" forum. I'd been waiting on an insultex sale for some time, and I've bought cheap nylon from Scott. Makes sense that we have distinctions between not-for-profit group buys and for-profit sales that benefit us all.

The intent of my message was to let others know of the sale going on, since I would have missed it, if I hadn't been looking for something else. I'll watch the rules...
