Let's take it to "All things Gorge Rat". It's pertinent to that thread!

Any idea about overnight temps at the bottom of the Ditch? I'm sure it can be an awfully cold 'pocket'.

I think the low was in the mid 40's last May when Slowhike, Mac and I were at Conley. It was also overcast with light rain. Remember though, that along the ridges you'll be very exposed to sun and wind since the canopy is gone in a lot of places. Be prepared for hot as well as cool, I'd say.

Hot's the easy part. Cold, you're prepared or your not. With temps only down to the 40's I can go with a much lighter pack

ya know ... controling how much I carry has always been a problem ... the "geesh I might need this" thing ... I can pack for a month overseas in one bag and a messenger bag ... can't seem to get my head around it for a two night camping trip. Always more food than I eat and more gadgets than I needed ... well more reason to hike more! Practice practice practice!

WARNING: Will discuss Rhurbarb Strawberry Pie and Livermush at random.
