5.58 lbs for more fuel than I really need, dinners for Thurs and Fri, breakfast for Sat, and 2 liters of water. After a quick $13 stop at REI tomorrow afternoon I should be 10 more ounces lighter. Future weight-saving ideas include swapping my bug net out for something else and talking to a certain someone about some Insultex. My goal is to get to 14 lbs and 20 lbs for a warm weather weekend trip.

    Hey Mac,
I still have those Carbon Arrows, will be Bringing them with me. Which trailhead will you be parked? Will put them under your truck for you. I apologize for not getting them in the mail. Have had alot of fires to put out, and rats to kill at the shops. Got some lawyer stuff to deal with and such on top of normal activity. Enough with excuses, I'll get em to ya Like I promised!

    Tim,
My food for this trip is 3-1/2 lbs. This includes 2 lunches, 2 Breakfasts, 2 suppers, 2 candybars, basically 2 full days of food with a few snacks

Good grief! 75% of that is water!

Stick around until Monday and we can discuss IX. Perhaps you can try it, if Hedcase or Skippy will let you.

If you don't see my truck at Spence on Sunday, you can give them to anyone from NC who will carry them... MtnCmpr, Slowhike, Hawk-eye, etc. Thanks!

Yep! I was reminded that I need to drink more water while on a little expedition at SEHHA with Running Feather, Hanging Burrito, and Acercanto. Unfortunately I'll have to head back out Saturday, but I'll get with you after the weekend about IX. I should be able to shave about 7 oz with the bugnet, but my big weight savings will be with an under quilt.

BTW... My 7lb food was just my first laying out of the food stuff. It includes from lunch Fri through breakfast or lunch on Mon.
The "beverage mix" bag weighs 1lb, 12ozs. That's Mocha, Chi, Hot Tea, etc.
I may thin that down some. I have a feeling I won't have time for two cups of mocha in the mornings
I too will something make and joy in it's making

And my food weight will likely inch up a bit. I'll likely add a bar or two, and most likely some morning tea. I'll have to watch myself though.

Tim, I'm not in charge AT ALL. I just mentioned that I like an early start. I think Friday's hike will give us a good/better idea on how to budget our time.

I love the day's beginning and the wonder it brings. I also like an early start because it builds in lolly-gag time. Lastly - if things go awry, it affords daylight to get back on track.

...Oh! I forgot. You rolled into camp, in the pitch dark, in the rain with the greatest of ease.

It would take an emergency or big $$ for me to hike some of those trails after dark.

    That's just me.

I'm mainly just kiddin around, but When I don't have any prodding, I do tend to sleep & hang out in the hammock longer than I should
I enjoy lazy mornings when I can, but I also know that getting a little earlier start feels good too
Besides, I want to hike "with" you guys, not come rolling into camp by myself
