    drip strip question

I have a quick question-------I use speer straps for my suspension-------does any one sew the drip strips on to the straps ----or do most people pin them on when they get to camp? I thought it would be easier to sew them on permenantly, (one less thing to loose) but wasnt sure if that was a good thing or not. Also, how close do you put them to the hammock?
FYI: If you want to know what type a certain bear is, sneak up behind it and kick it. Then,
run like crazy and climb up a tree. If the bear climbs the tree and eats you, it's a black
bear. If the bear just pushes the tree over and eats you, it's a grizzly bear : )

Do not walk behind me, for I may not lead. Do not walk ahead of me, for I may not follow. Do not walk beside me, either, just leave me alone.

I suppose you could sew them on, can't see a reason not to.
As far as where, as long as it's under the tarp, and doesn't drip on anything, it's all good.

Can't claim to be an expert, but I "sew" them on permanently. By "sew," I mean I just run a heavy thread through the suspension line with a needle, and clip it off about an inch or so on both sides/ends. I leave both ends poking out. Doesn't take much of anything to guide water.

I don't know if it's how I did it or if it's not really much of a problem anyway, but have never had a problem with water running down the bottom of my HH.

    I have to ask....
    What is a Drip Strip?

it sounds like a strip of fabric that allows water to drip down....

So what is the desired result when using a drip strip?

Any and all information would be awesome.

To allow water to drip down...

It diverts water from running down your suspension and wetting the hammock fabric, usually. Other obstacles on the suspension can serve the same purpose, as long as they are within your tarp's coverage (buckles, rings, knots, etc).
