Smile Hanging out in England - Introducing myself

Hi all Hangers, just thought I'd introduce myself from Suffolk England!

Been Bushcrafting for many years (hanging out on www.Bushcraftuk.com) and finally got round to purchasing a hammock at Christmas! (geese iv missed out on some comfy sleeping!)

It's a 2010 DD travel hammock from the Uk manufacturer www.ddhammocks.com

Anyway.. I went out in January and froze!.. (didn't learn about the internal compression stuff until after!).. So iv spent the last month making an underquilt with some help from here!

Just got back from a week long intensive Bushcrafting.. And wow.. What an amazing sleep!

If anyones interested, here's my blog with photos of the week! One site in the midlands, the other in Cambridgeshire!
    www.wolfcrafter.blogspot.com

I'll soon have pics up of how I made it too!.. Still a few mods to do.. But that's all part of the fun aye.. Modify.. Test.. Modify some more!

Welcome to the forum WC. LOoks like you had a good time at bushcraft camp. More than a couple of hammocks and tarp tents. Looks like you got your rig where you want it also. Good sleep now

    Hello and welcome WolfCrafter,

I signed into Buchcraftuk about eight years ago. About 2 years ago they made some kind of change to the server and I couldn't get into the forum for about a year. Though if I came upon a link in some other forum to something posted there I could view it. One day I tried to get in and suddenly it was working again for me. My check-in frequency ebbs and flows. Been checking on the post there again lately. And sometimes Song of the Paddle too.

What did you use for insulation in your UQ? Down or a synthetic of some kind?

    Cheers.

    D

    Hanging out in England

    Hi Wolfie,

Another Brit hanger here, based in London so even harder to get out!

I have to confess to being more of an observer than a regular contributor here but this is a great friendly place and source of advice.

All the US cottage manufacturing guys have also been tremendously helpful about advising and getting me sorted with some good kit and shipping to the UK. It's a really great, supportive community ;-)
