    supershelter pad questions

Curious if anyone's tried this yet... I've got a WB traveler 1.7DL, would a HH SS pad fit and work between the layers?

Also, how small does the pad pack?

I'm still looking for space efficient way to stay warm hanging that doesn't involve big money for an underquilt.

    Thanks

The Hennessy pads are squishy and will get mashed between the layers. The minicell skins Warbonnet recomends work well and rolls up fairly small once trimmed a bit. I've used that stuff a few times along with a narrow sleeping pad and was warm (<30 degrees). I think next time I will loose the pad and try securing a few layers of Wally World fleece to the foam.

The super shelter is a fine system as a whole. However, I would be leary of dividing up the pieces to use separately. It was designed as a specific unit for specific hammocks of specific manufacturing. While your idea might work, frankly, unless you already own the pad I would think the money would be better spent on another solution tried and tested. YMMV
I may be slow... But I sure am gimpy.

    Good points.

After thinking about it more last night and this morning, I figured its going to be a while before I go back to the plains states where its most likely I wont' be able to find trees, so I'll figure out a pad solution then. Ordered a KAQ Lost River last night, once it gets here I'll figure out a way to stuff it so it and my bag fit nicely on my bike.
