I can shuttle from the Rough Trail parking area on 715 back to the suspension bridge parking area on Sunday. Not a problem.
Of course this holds true as long as something doesn't come up to force us to stay home.

You can put me down as a backup on the shuttle. I plan on coming down sometime Friday and will stay to Monday. If something comes up let me know and I can likely be down there at whatever time works for others.
Pakman thanks for your effort in arranging things - wish you could be there. Congrats on the Indy opportunity - hope the business works out for you.
Easiest place to get the permits is at the Slade Shell Station. Once you get off of the Bert T. Combs Mountain Parkway from I 64, go under the Parkway and the Shell station will be to your right at the T intersection. They also have trail maps.

I am pretty flexible as well. Let me know what time to be at the Shell station to meet up and I am in.
I would like to avoid doing high miles on Saturday if possible (I was probably going to do the low mileage option) but other than that I am flexible.
Thanks for keeping this going!
I'll be able to make it there (Shell station) I think by 1 or 2pm. It's about 6 hours from my house and I'm going to have to be ready to go first thing Friday morning. Anyone interested in doing just the Clifty part of the plan? It's ok if not. I'll just be happy to be in the woods.

I'd recommend spending Friday afternoon starting at the suspension bridge and heading to the pre-determined campsite. Chimney Top Creek is a nice area to camp. The low mile option on Saturday that takes you across Rough Trail to Swift Camp Creek is just that...Rough. Although this are is not all considered part of the Clifty Wilderness, once you cross Chimney Top Road and get down by Parched Corn Creek, you'll definitely know that you are in a different part of the Gorge and I wouldn't skip it. Once you get to Swift Camp Creek and set up camp you'll have plenty of time for fishing or exploration of the Wilderness.
I plan to be at the campsite around 7:00pm on Saturday and day hiking on Sunday. It's my son's first backpacking/hammocking trip so he'll be the one gauging the fun meter. Look forward to meeting everyone.
