Great looking tarp for the $$$. I wish someone would make that size out of sil. I perfer the rectangle cut tarps seems to give you more options. Is the weight close to 2 lbs?

Ops, never mind...1.82 lbs!!!
Randy,
Thanks for the review. I also bought the same tarp from Ambient a few weeks ago and did a quick setup in my backyard. I was impressed with the tarp for the price I paid. I have not had a chance to go hanging with it yet but we are taking our Scouts to Hunting Island State park in a couple of weeks. I may try it their. I mainly bought this for more weather protection and it should work fine. I still plan to use my stock HH tarp for warm weather and where I need a lighter pack load.
Can you take some more pictures to show how you did the webbing over the grommets. I think I would like to do this also.
Thanks,
Chris
Nice review, I just ordered a 9'6"x9'6" one to try out.
Just got the 14x12 in the mail the other day. They call it the guide size, huge is what I call it (compared to even my MCultra). Bought it for use as a dining tarp, and thought I could get away with extra long cord to tree for the 4 corners, but now think I better get a couple of those adjustable tarp poles. Anyone know of a good brand? This is def. a base camp / car camping tarp, so weight of poles is non issue. Nice product, post some pics when get it rigged proper.
I picked mine up at an Army surplus store...don't remember the brand.
The plating is cosmetic, and very nearly useless...keep a coat of CorrosionX, or something similar, on them.

Thanks for the tip. I have heard rust is common with em.
Chinook also makes a 9'6"x9'6" tarp, but I can't find a US vendor...anybody got any ideas?
