I know there is no right answer but what is the best length to go with for the whoopie slings? 6, 8, or 10 ft

i have 6' whoopies and haven't had them be too short... 6 footers give you 12' plus the length of your hammock and tree straps that you can span. but being as i live the evergreen state there's no shortage of nicely spaced trees. i guess it comes down to what works in the area you do most of your hanging. or if you want extra length to open up those perfect views of sunrise from bed? the weight difference is little so longer has potential benefit and little penalty
It depends on the layout of your area. 6' slings give you an average of around a 20' span, including your hammock. Add in your tree straps that thats pretty good coverage.
But as Kallorne said... the extra weight the longer slings add compared to the insurance of having the adjustment is almost a wash....
I use 17 foot of dynaglide, gives me about 8 feet on each end of adjustability. Weigh less than 2 oz.
