hi all.
yep I'm a noob, just signed on to get tips and help if need be - I hang in my HH delux explorer with top entry and extra large tarp.
I hike, para-glide, hunt, kayak, Fly fish, scuba dive and the work when not playing outdoors.
Why a hammock? simple really - I have camped since I was kid, camped in Namibia, Zimbabwe, Mozambique and South Africa of course, frame tents, dome tents, you name it, sleeping under canvas is simply in my blood.
When we lived in the UK recently, I bought a trailer tent (the poms on here will know what I'm talking about) anyhow, we stuck it into the container when we moved to BC, and now camp all over the place with it here.
My sons love camping as we had them out before they were six months old.
however, when climbing mountains in the hope of flying off the top in my para-glider, or in the pursuit of big horn sheep - I needed a more versatile, comfortable shelter than a tarp and the hard, stony earth - and what is better than HH?
So there you have it, a bit about me.
