    BBO style under cover

Hey Paul, any chance you could make up an under cover weather shield in the future? I tried my BBO top cover on the bottom but didn't thread the shelf/netting through the slots and instead pulled them over the top of the BBO. I think it might work ok as a bottom shield but I am not sure if it might tension out a bit too tight and compress the under quilt when laying in the hammock. Here are a few pics of my BBO on the bottom. If you could make a weather shield similar to the BBO but a bit looser fitting, without the velcro slots for the netting, but keeping the elastic along the sides to keep it held up along the sides better you'd have a winner and I'd be first in line to buy one. I'd make my own but I don't have a sewing machine. I currently use a dry ducks poncho but I don't really like taking it because it doesn't pack down well enough and it's too fragile. Just a thought.

I have gotten a few requests for them, most of them from you MN guys It is something that I have been thinking about how to do. May have to get out the old thinking cap and make some test ones up.

The BBO almost works for it but the velcro slots of course aren't necessary but I really like the shock cord attachment for hooking to the whipping and the elastic along the sides is kind of nice to keep it in place so it doesn't droop down on the sides. Just needs a bit more material underneath to hang a bit lower so it doesn't compress the underquilt I'm thinking. The weather shields from the bottom really make a difference in my opinion for shielding the wind. Unless you can pitch your tarp all the way to the ground you still can get chilly drafts underneath you that rob some of the heat. I'm thinking untreated ripstop would really help keep some of the wind off but at the same time breath well to avoid condensation. I find that the Dri ducks poncho doesn't really breath all that well and I always get some condensation with that but I'm guessing nylon would work better. I know Shug really likes his homemade one.

    I'd volunteer to test prototypes.
