Fabric is supplex, which holds up to dog toenails well. This hammock is insulated. My dog tolerates the hammock, but doesn't like the fact that it moves when he steps into it. When it's cold he will get into it by himself.

    Hi David,

This is exactly what I had in mind. Is this a DIY add-on you made? Would you mind if I contacted you for more info?

    Thanks,
    Heath

That's cool WV! My dog would never settle for being separated from me though! It would totally freak her out. She's such a pack animal, and we are her pack.

My lab started out sleeping in the hammock with me but she has just recently gotten a little too large for us to both fit comfortably. It seems like she's really comfortable when in a hammock by herself, as she always just lays there peacefully.

I just completed a DIY Dog/Gear hammock which I plan on testing out the next time we go on a trip. Here are a couple of pictures of the finished product.

No problems getting my little guy "skitch" to jump in.. he even knows the word hammock. He start getting excited when I say it. But one word of caution . The hammock was hanging indoors and no one was in it. He only 15lb and he made is usual climb up on stuff and then lept uinto the hammock..... no problem when it's occupied... but with no in it it didn't open and he crashed pretty good. But he's ok. I think he learned to wait for someone to get in first. He tries a little digging init till he's told to stop. But he feels special when he's in the hammock
How many time have you heard.......? "nice hammock what about when there are no trees?"
