Do I need a full length or torso length

pad? I just bought a Traveler, with Yeti 3 season deluxe UQ I will use my old 35* REI synth. bag for summer with just an old piece of blue CCF, but when the weather gets colder next fall I will buy a TQ, probably the JRB Hudson River.
For colder weather(no colder than mid to upper 20's at most)would I still need to go with a full/or at least torso length pad to stay warm, what thickness? Like a lot of women, I sleep cold, but wear wool/syn. thermals, balaclava, socks, glove liners. I am trying to figure pack volume before I actually buy one (a pack).
    Thanks,
    leigh

I have a Yeti and it works fine for me. I bought an Incubator for my wife, who is also a cold sleeper, and she loves it. I have used it several nights and I am starting to like having the full length UQ. In fact, I just ordered a 3 season full length. IMO, the only reasons to use a 2/3 or 3/4 UQ is cost and weight.

you can't go wrong with a hudson river...i have one and it's my goto quilt for colder weather....

that with a 3 season yeti should be a good mix....
It puts the Underquilt on it's hammock ... It does this whenever it gets cold

You may .... try without when the weather chills ... but have the pad with you and add if needed. The 1/4" Gossamer Gear type ccf pad is good and very light.

If the pad makes you sweat, you might find that the 3-season Yeti with leg pad is more comfortable in the summer than a thin full-length pad. You can vent the Yeti so you don't sweat...but you can't adjust the pad if you're laying on it. Just a thought.

The UQ+liner should get you down to below freezing...or around freezing if you sleep cold. If you're going colder than that, you can add a full-length pad to the yeti and be good.

Hassle free , breathable, nothing in the hammock, comfort... go with the full length UQ...Should you ever misjudge the expected temp your sit pad, assuming you carry a small one, can be your CBS eliminator or reange extender.

Weight issue is about equal given the smaller sit pad than the pads most fractional UQ users are reportedly using.

I may be biased but JRB sells both full size and fractional UQ so this is a fair opinion.

i disagree with that. people carry torso uq's and leg pads specifically because of the weight savings (which is signifigant with the yeti at least)

"hassle-free" could be debated as well

They also sell the Mount Washington 3 Convertible, which is a full sized UQ that converts to a torso length UQ . I really like mine!
