Anyone Up for Mt. Rogers this weekend?

Got a wild hair to go down and park in Damascus and shuttle out to somewhere on the AT and hike back in this weekend. Anyone up for a short overnighter or 2 day trip?

Planning on leaving sometime early in the AM tomorrow or maybe going down tonight and starting early tomorrow.

I was just there last weekend. There was some snow still on Rogers and White Top. Probably gone by now.

Thanks Dutch. I'll pack some extra warm clothes just in case it gets chilly up there.

Oh it wasn't cold but the snowpack was pretty heavy this year. It was just neat to see snow. Enjoy the hike. That is one of my favorite places to hike. Lots of dayhikers though.

Yeah I'm hoping to run into some thruhikers at the shelters. Be good to see trail people again.

Looks like I've got atleast 1 person from the board up for going. If anyone else gets a wild hair we'll be meeting at Massie Gap around 1PM. Going to make a long loop around to Wise shelter and then back to the cars mid day Sunday.

Finally going to get to try out the blackbird and the 3 Season Yeti in the great wilds. Wishing I had my burrow, but going to hope my #5 Super Spiral keeps me somewhat warm as a TQ tomorrow night with the help on my down vest and beanie.

A little breakfast from the hammock with my Zelph Cobalt Soloist and keeping my noggin warm with a blackrock beanie.

Trip report to follow Sunday night, unfortunately no pics from my end, waiting on my camera to come in.

If you don't hear from me by Monday, assume the Man eating Ponies got me and took my WB gear.

    Have a great weekend Everyone.
