    I believe the ones I have are basically made with something crimped to the end of the coil, and then a sort of "pocket" sewn around the crimped metal, to hold it in place. Seems easy enough to do.

    That DOES sound interesting. Pics PLEASE! I also thought about just having a knot or two sewn into this "pouch" of sorts. Although, elastic bands still seem to have my interest!
