We always do a thing called Thorns, Roses, and Buds before we leave. The boys get to reflect on the weekend and list one thing they didn't like (thorn), one they did like (rose), and something they would like to see more of (bud).
One of the new scouts said his rose was getting to hike all day with his Dad.

If it had been a miserable weekend, that would have made it all worthwhile.
That sounds like a great game to do. I will definitely try it on our next outing.
