First DIY hammock... almost a success

I was digging through my junk looking for some shock cord and came across a hunk of 1.9 ripstop. I measured it, it ended up being 9' x 60". A tad short for a hammock, but I figured I could give it a shot and see what happens.
Loosely followed the "My take on a Hennessy" guide from headchange4u. Used my last two SMC rings, Dyneema from the recent group buy, and the last of my Amsteel.
The thing was a success in that it worked, and was sort of comfy for being so small... only issue was that it was too short. I'm going to try again with a 12' piece of fabric and see what results. If it feels good, I'll go the rest of the way and do a zipper system for bugnet/weathershield.

Pics or it didn't happen? (Sorry didn't think to get a pic with me IN it...)

And knowing is half the battle. I've found I really like an 11ft hammock body.

Keep that 9' one as either a smaller person's hammock, or re-use the material in your eventual DIY bridge hammock.

My first was 9'. The only issue I had was my feet kept slipping out as I layed diagonally. I sewed in a 26"x26"x? right triangle footbox in, and it worked great.

Later I made a 11'-4"ish from Sclittlefield's 1.1 ripstop, it is a bit more roomy and comfortable...

I'm 6' tall, 210lbs, YMMV... Now my 11-year old daughter calls the 9' one hers...
