That price is a steal, looking forward to hopefully (fingers crossed) to checking this out at the MAHA, now If im understanding the concept correctly this would be most effectively used when useing a smaller summer tarp in order to protect it from rain blowing in and would not be "as needed" with a winter tarp is that thinking correct?

Hmmm....this thing is not dipped in gold! It's just a piece of silnylon 88 x 64, hemmed with shockcord through the hem. That's it.

We bought the sil in bulk. No worries Dutch, ZQ and I will still eat!!

    Just thinking....
Everyone realizes, I hope, that using silnylon as a protector for your quilt requires the use of a vapor barrier as well. Sil does not breathe, therefore condensation will form against the underquilt. A vapor barrier is needed to stop the flow of moisture through the quilt. I use a smaller piece of sil (a second protector would work) between my hammock and underquilt. I typically utilize this method for winter camping.

What if you made it out of .9 oz. Momentum? Seems to me that'd be a good choice for breathability, "hand", light weight and DWR all in one package. The price, of course, would be much higher because of the material cost.

If you do get hungry i always have extra. Woul this also be able to double as a pack cover. Maybe if I modded it so it folds in half. Ahh I'll just wait till I see it tomarrow.

I hadn't thought about that. I'm wondering in a WBBB with Yeti+ reflective liner situation do you think that you'd get condensation on the leg end that would dribble downhill into the yeti??
